GOAL: All children in Calhoun County will have access to health services

CHILDHOOD IMMUNIZATIONS: Vaccination has resulted in significant reductions in both morbidity and mortality from childhood diseases. The Michigan Care Improvement Registry tracks vaccination coverage of Michigan residents throughout their lifespan, beginning in childhood. Calhoun County continues to see increases in childhood vaccination coverage, and coverage remains higher than both the state and nation. The childhood immunization coverage goal set by Health People 2020 is 80.0%, which Calhoun County has surpassed with 83.3% coverage.
