TOP TEN LEADING CAUSES OF DEATH
 
GOAL: To be the healthiest county in Michigan


In Calhoun County, the top three leading causes of death among all ages (heart disease, cancer, and chronic lower respiratory diseases) accounted for over half of all deaths in 2015 (793 out of 1,520 deaths). The rate of heart disease and cancer in Calhoun County was higher than the state in 2015. Overall, females experienced higher numbers of deaths from heart disease while males experienced higher numbers of deaths due to cancer.
